Alcossebre is a wonderful place in Costa Azahar . It is situated in the northern part of the Castelion province. Alcossebre is famous for its wonderful beaches, hotels and villas, picturesque landscapes and mountains of Sierra de Irta, that is a well-known National Park. Interesting cultural events organized there attract tourists from different countries.
Alcossebre and its vicinity have a unique spirit of Valencia which is highly appreciated by thousands of real lovers of the Mediterranean Spain. Olive groves, orangeries, a lot of ancient mansions and temples, the diversity of flora and fauna, the purity of the sea are the main features of this place.
The resort of Alcossebre consists of three small parts: Las Fuentes, Alcossebre and Cap-i-Corb. Each of these places has a great variety of villas and hotels, you can rent small cottages and flats there as well.
The beaches of Alcossebre are considered to be the best on the northern coast of Costa Azahar. Las Fuentes is situated near the Yachting Club. Carregador is considered to be the central beach of the resort. It has already had “the blue flag” for 20 years. Three other beaches of Alcossebre also have “the blue flags”. They are Tropicane in Cap-i-Corb, Romane and Del Moro. Those who prefer staying in solitude while being on holidays will enjoy Tres Playas. This beach is also one of the most famous nudist beaches of the province. Tres Playas, Romane and Carregador are famous for their dunes as well.
The most interesting place in Alcossebre is in the historical part of the resort called Alcala De Xivert. These are the ruins of the Xivert Castle which are situated on Irta Mountain.
There are places in Alcossebre where you can enjoy yourselves, make merry and have a wonderful rest. Holidays and festivals are held there all the year round. It is amazing but the busiest period is February. A lot of carnivals are held in February in Alcossebre. The most interesting is the ceremony of “sardines’ funerals”. In summer a great performance is organized in many places ofValencia including Alcossebre. It is a Medieval Battle called “Moors and Christians”.
