Benissa

Benissa is a resort in the north of Alicante between Calpa and Morayra. Picturesque mountains, the sea and the rich Mediterranean flora make holidays pleasant and exciting there for families and individuals. A lot of Europeans appreciate wonderful holidays in Benissa. The coastline of Benissa consists of a great number of grottoes and tiny cozy bays. The beaches in Benissa are the centers of the resort life. And the resort life is really merry especially at the end of August, because August is traditionally the period of holidays. The first holiday is a religious holiday known as Pinos. Then a lot of jolly parties are organized on the beaches of Baladrar and Advocate.

Benissa is famous not only for its beaches but also for the atmosphere made up by some architectural monuments and buildings. Among them there is an old market, some watch-towers, a monastery of the 17th century. The atmosphere of calmness and relaxation is felt in Benissa. It is possible to say that there are many resorts in Costa Blanca which are very much alike, but each has its unique charm. The charm of Benissa is not only architecture but its local cuisine as well. The most favorite sea food in Benissa is considered to be octopus. There are a lot of dishes made of octopus in the restaurants of Benissa, and everybody can find something to his or her taste.
