Nowadays the airports of the Valencian community are the busiest in Spain. Since the middle of the 90s of the last century the amount of passangers travelling to Valencia by air has doubled. About half of that number is for the flights of the national airlines and the other half is for the international flights from European Community and other parts of the world.
The main airports of the community are the Airport of Valencia (its code is IATA: VLC) and the Airport of Alicante (its code is IATA: ALC). Most of the flights of the Airport of Valencia are businesslike. The flights to the Airport of Alicante are mostly for tourists.
The Airport of Valencia is considered to be “the air gates” to Costa Azahar (ru.valencia-netz.de/165/costa-azahar-ru.html.). The Airport of Alicante is mostly for Costa Blanca (ru.valencia-netz.de/165/costa-blanca-ru.html.) including Benidorm, Denia and other places.
The Airport of Valencia is excellently connected with both the capital and the coast. It is connected with the capital by bus and by metro. The railway road connects the airport with the coast, for example, with the third greatest city in the community called Castellon de la Plana. As a rule, those who want to go to the famous resort of Marina Dor quickly and comfortably choose travelling by train. There are only 20 km between Marina Dor and Castellon.
In the nearest future it will become even easier to come to Marina Dor and the other resorts of Costa Azahar. There will be a new airport in the province of Castellon. It is being built nowadays near the Santa Barbara mountain in the place of Vilanova d’Alcolea.
The airport in Alicante is considered to be the greatest international airport in Valencia. 80% of its passangers come from other countries. The average price of the taxi from the airport to the centre of the city is about 12 Eur, to Torrevieja it is 50 Eur and to Benidorm it is about 60 Eur.
