Hiking in the Sierra de Ador

The Sierra de Ador is recommended for hikes through a landscape of gorges and springs. The SL-CV 59 Sendero de la Sierra de Ador has the homologation status “positive quality control”. For planning a day trip, the starting point is specific: the trail begins at the municipal swimming complex in Ador. This means that the access point is within the town and not at an unspecified section of the mountain landscape.

Church with ecclesiastical art

The parish church Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de Loreto was built in the 16th century and later expanded in the 18th century. Inside are paintings from the school of Juan de Juanes. Architectural history and ecclesiastical art come together in this church within a confined space. The 18th-century expansion followed the construction of the church in the 16th century.

Museum and everyday history

The Colección Museográfica Etnológica de Ador is housed in a 19th-century building. It displays historical tools and objects from housework and agricultural work. Archaeological traces in the surrounding area

A Neolithic burial was discovered in the cave in the Barranco del Figueral on Mount Els Ninets. The cave known as Cueva del Alcalde is located in the La Canaleta area.

The Raconch archaeological site included a manor house with a heating system that was unusual for its time. Archaeological remains considered among the most significant in the Comarca were found in the Raconch district. The manor house and the other remains are both part of Raconch's archaeological context, without describing the same find.

Mountain chapel and protected landscape area

The Ermita de San José is located high on the mountain and has a spectacular viewpoint over the entire Comarca. The protected landscape area Paisaje Protegido del Serpis also includes the municipal area of Ador. The mountain chapel marks a specific point at elevation, while the landscape area encompasses the municipal area of Ador.

Ador can be reached via the CV-685 road. The Oficina de Turismo – Ador is located at Plaça de la Font. For finding your way around the town, there is therefore both a specific access road and a specific location within Ador.
