Nature and Environmental Education

The natural side includes La Antigua Cantera de l'Albir, a sustainable recreational area in the Parque Natural de Serra Gelada. There you will find a viewpoint and picnic tables; there is also a 30-metre-high vertical Via Ferrata.

CIPM Los Carrascos is an 11,000 m² forest area with more than 200 species, including 80 endemic species of the Comunitat Valenciana. The former Cuartel de los Carabineros de l’Albir, built in 1829, was converted into an environmental education centre. The Centro de Educación Ambiental Los Carabineros can accommodate exhibitions, seminars, lectures and school visits.

Archaeology and Historical Interpretation

Archaeology can be experienced at the Museo al Aire Libre Villa Romana de l’Albir. The archaeological site has been open to the public since 2011; its Roman baths are considered some of the best-preserved in the province of Alicante. Immersive experiences using 3D technology and virtual reality headsets recreate everyday life in a 5th-century AD Roman villa.

The Centro de Interpretación Faro de l'Albir is considered the first cultural lighthouse in the Comunitat Valenciana. The Torre Bombarda was restored in 2011–2012 so that visitors could explore it more easily.

At the Molí de Mànec, historical water use is combined with informative interpretation: the site was rehabilitated as an interpretation centre for an important element of the historic irrigation system. Visitors can enter the facilities and learn about the entire process of transforming grain into flour along the watercourse. The watercourse forms the spatial line along which the individual stages of the visit are arranged.

Art, Film and Wine

The Museo Delso opened in 1978 and comprises three pavilions as well as an outdoor exhibition area. On display are paintings, ceramics and iron sculptures by the artist Pedro Delso Rupérez.

The Festival de Cine de l'Alfàs del Pi was first held in July 1989 and is dedicated to disseminating and promoting culture. Every summer, alongside film screenings, it features exhibitions, concerts, lectures, debates, masterclasses, book presentations, and meetings with filmmakers and actors.

For a culinary perspective, Bodegas Mendoza has a winery in l'Alfàs del Pi. Personalised tours explain the winemaking process and are followed by wine tastings. The tour focuses on production, while the tasting puts the wine itself at the centre.
