La Marina reveals its character through Playa La Marina, the Pinada de La Marina and its local festivals. Playa La Marina is 1,100 metres long; it has an accessible bathing area adapted for all visitors. Regular bus services connect Playa La Marina with Alicante and San Fulgencio. Pinada and Natural Area

Together with the palm groves of Elche, the Pinada de La Marina forms the only wooded area in the municipality of Elche. It was established at the end of the 19th century and lies within a Natura 2000 site. A 2,470-hectare park stretches between the municipality of Elche, in the La Marina district, and Santa Pola. If you would like to combine nature experiences with a stay on the coast, you can distinguish between the wooded Pinada and the extensive parkland. Cycling Route Between the River System and the Beaches

SenderElx is a circular route more than 40 kilometres long. Apart from the turnoff to the Museo de Pusol, the entire route is accessible by bicycle. SenderElx allows you to explore the Vinalopó river system in the southern part of the municipality as well as the beaches of El Pinet and La Marina. If you would like to combine cycling with changing landscapes, this route offers a concrete perspective on the river area and the coast without limiting your stay to days at the beach.

Watchtower and Coastal Culture

The watchtower on Playa del Pinet beach in La Marina was part of the network of watchtowers and defensive towers built throughout the municipality of Elche in the 16th century. The Torre del Pinet is associated with monument status in Elche. Along this stretch of coast, you therefore encounter not only landscape-related features but also historical links to the defence of the municipality.

Festivals and Traditions

The Fiestas Patronales de La Marina de Elche are celebrated on 4 October. They include the traditional presentation of sashes, a floral offering and a procession. During the traditional Mig Any in La Marina, a large paella is prepared in May. These festivals add a distinct focus on local culture, which you can take into account in your travel planning alongside the beach, nature and cycling experiences.

The third edition of the Festival d’Havaneres was announced for 29 August 2025 from 9 p.m. at Playa del Pinet beach in La Marina. The festival was intended to continue a tradition more than one hundred years old, in which local residents sang and played guitars by the sea.
