Historic Sites and Archaeological Finds
Villa Edelmira is classified as a monument in the Comunitat Valenciana. Vila Edelmira is a fortified farmhouse in La Torre de les Maçanes. La Casa Alta is an Almohad watchtower, probably built in the 12th century, or during Almohad rule between 1172 and the Reconquista. After the Reconquista, La Casa Alta lost its function as a watchtower and became a manor house.
The origins of the parish church of Santa Ana in La Torre de les Maçanes date back to 1588. There is a necropolis inside the parish church. Freginal de la Font Major is a Mesolithic archaeological site. The sites of La Foia de Cortés and el Xipreret include silos from a group of more than seventy silos built between 3000 BC and the Middle Ages. These places make different historical periods directly visible at the destination: Almohad rule, the ecclesiastical past and very early traces of settlement stand side by side.
