Playa Torrenostra and the natural environment
Playa Torrenostra is an urban beach with plenty of space and calm water. The beach also features an adapted-access facility, a children’s playground, information about sea conditions and a Red Cross station. Thus, Playa includes several specific features that may play a role in planning your day in addition to spending time by the water itself.
Playa Torrenostra in Torreblanca marks the northern boundary of El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Natural Park. This makes it possible to combine a day at the beach with activities for getting to know the natural environment.
The Torre de Guaita at the beach
The Torre de Guaita watchtower stands directly on Playa de Torrenostra. The 17th-century tower served to protect the place from invasions and is classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC). It was fully restored in 2007. Its square floor plan has side lengths of 8.70 metres, and it is 9 metres high.
The Torre de Guaita therefore brings together several historical features in a single structure: its former protective function, its BIC classification, its restoration and its clearly defined dimensions. For visitors interested in culture, Torrenostra thus offers a specific counterpart to the nature and beach themes, without the place having to be limited to a single type of travel.
Information at Espai Natura
Espai Natura in Torrenostra is the interpretation centre of El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Natural Park and provides visitors with individual information about the protected area. An exhibition about the formation of the Prat and its great diversity of flora and fauna can also be visited there.
Walking and cycling routes
In the natural park, Route 3 is designated as the Torrenostra Route. It is 4.5 km long, designed as a circular route and intended for public use. The circular format and stated length provide a clear framework for assessing this route without presupposing a specific walking time.
Torrenostra is also connected to a cycling route: the Capicorp y el CampĂ s BTT route is linked to the Torrenostra reception point, classified as very easy and 13.36 km long. The two routes therefore differ significantly in both length and designation. For your travel planning, a 4.5 km circular route and a 13.36 km BTT route classified as very easy are available as distinct options alongside each other.
Virgen del Carmen in 2026
Another facet of Torrenostra can be seen in the Virgen del Carmen celebration announced for 2026. It honours the patron saint of sailors. At 7:00 p.m., the programme includes a procession departing from the Club Náutico; at 8:00 p.m., a mass in honour of Mare de Déu del Carmen follows in the parish church of Torrenostra.
