Iberian History and Regional Culture
La Bastida de les Alcusses is a 4th-century BC Iberian settlement in Mogente and is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in the Comunitat Valenciana. A reconstructed Iberian house at La Bastida de les Alcusses has an area for educational workshops. There, visitors can grind flour or open the lock of a typical Iberian door with a wooden key.
The Museo arqueolĂłgico municipal de Moixent offers a chronological and thematic tour through the CĂ nyoles Valley from prehistory to the modern era. The central part of the permanent exhibition is dedicated to the Iberian world and addresses life in the settlement as well as burial practices. The museum can be visited on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 14:00.
A Neo-Gothic religious building in Moixent was rebuilt between 1880 and 1889 after the 1748 Montesa earthquake and contains stained-glass windows, murals and 19th-century altarpieces.
