Muntanya de la Sella: Mill Route, Garden and Riuraus

Muntanya de la Sella offers more than one single attraction to discover: Els Molinets, the Jardí de l'Albarda, the Ruta dels Riuraus, La Sella Tennis & Padel and Centro Paramita each add a different dimension, spanning activity, plants, traditional architecture and spiritual practice. When planning your trip, it is therefore worth considering the individual sites according to your preferred daily rhythm.

Els Molinets and the Mill Route

The two Molinets are circular, slightly truncated-cone-shaped stone buildings with walls more than 1.5 metres thick; both were built in 1850. Their shape and solid construction provide a clearly recognisable destination, even if you are not familiar with technical terms.

Els Molinets are two windmills in the valley between La Sella and the mountain of Pedreguer. Their power was once used to grind grain and produce flour. The equipment inside the Molinets, which had been lost over time, was restored in 2016 to ensure their preservation.

The Els Molinets i el Miquelet de la Sella route is 6 kilometres long, takes around two hours and has a low level of difficulty. It climbs up to Miquelet de la Sella and then descends along the slope facing the sea to the La Sella residential development. This allows you to combine a visit to the mills with a clearly defined route.

Riuraus on the Cycling Route

The Ruta dels Riuraus is available for cycling excursions. It is 14.3 kilometres long and passes through the municipal area and over the Muntanya de La Sella. The route leads to several riuraus found in the municipality of Pedreguer and draws attention to the arcade houses characteristic of Pedreguer. This means that the focus is both on the route and on the regionally distinctive architectural forms.

Jardí de l'Albarda

The Jardí Mediterrani de l'Albarda was established in 1990 on the initiative of the Fundació Enrique Montoliu (FUNDEM) and is managed according to strict sustainability criteria. The Jardí de l'Albarda covers around 50,000 square metres and is home to more than 700 native plant species, as well as extensive rose and palm collections.

The Jardín de l'Albarda is open to the public every day. Guided visits for groups of ten or more must be reserved in advance. These different visiting options can be taken into account when planning your daily itinerary.

Tennis and Padel

La Sella Tennis & Padel has seven professional tennis courts: five clay courts and two artificial-turf courts. There are also three outdoor padel courts, including a panoramic court; lessons and tournaments are also offered.

Centro Paramita

Centro Paramita offers guided visits on certain dates; visits are not possible outside these times. At the Paramita Centre, the Centro Budista Sakya, visitors are given an explanation of the iconography of the Buddha temple.

Visitors can explore the grounds and meditate on site.
