The castle has a square floor plan with four thick, load-bearing exterior walls. They were built using the Arabic stone-and-tamped-earth technique known as masoneria encajonada.

Another architectural highlight is the Iglesia Parroquial de San Bartolomé Apóstol. The Neoclassical building has a Latin cross floor plan and dates from the 19th century. Three naves and six side chapels shape the interior layout. Two towers stand out on the façade; a dome is located above the altar.

MUVAMEL is a 360-square-metre space in the town centre. The permanent exhibition covers the history and development of beekeeping. MUVAMEL also includes an audiovisual room, an interactive games area, a workshop room and a shop selling beekeeping products as well as products made through the work of bees.
