Between Cala Mosca and Cala Estaca

Playa Flamenca stretches along the coast between two coves with different characteristics. Cala Mosca is a small cove with protected natural features. Two rocky areas flank it, giving it the appearance of a clearly defined cove. Cala Estaca is a natural cove with fine, golden sand and also an accessible beach.

Promenades with their own distinctive features

The Playa Flamenca promenade connects Cala Mosca with Cala Estaca. The promenade features an original sundial, adding a distinctive detail to the waterfront. A promenade along the shore of Cala Estaca extends to Cala Capitán. This gives you several coastal points to consider when planning: coves, promenades and a prominent landmark can be viewed as different focal points of a stay.

A coastal route between the town, sea and wooden walkways

The coastal route through Playa Flamenca also connects natural and urban landscapes. It follows a route that was formerly a livestock droving path. The route alternates between urban sections, seaside promenades and wooden walkways. Along it, some sections of the promenades have been prepared as paths. This variation makes the route interesting if you want to experience the coast not only as individual coves, but also in different spatial forms. The former livestock droving path remains a historical reference point along the route.

Orientation and sport

For orientation on site, the Playa Flamenca town hall includes, among other facilities, a tourist office. At the Centro Deportivo Municipal Playas de Orihuela, aquafitness, power fitness, yoga, Pilates, spinning, as well as strength and health training were scheduled for the course period from 1 April to 30 June 2026. The Centro Deportivo Municipal de Orihuela Costa has a 25-metre-long, covered and heated swimming pool, padel and tennis courts, multi-purpose sports courts, artificial-turf football pitches, a multi-purpose room and a 550-metre running track. In this way, sports activities and facilities complement the coastal themes with another specific area of interest.

Cycling and the local market

Orihuela's range of tourist routes includes various types of cycling paths, including cycle lanes. If you would like to include cycling as a travel theme alongside the coast and promenade, you can consider this part of the route offering separately. Playa Flamenca is also associated with a Saturday market.

Choosing the right accommodation base

When selecting a hotel in Playa Flamenca, you can first decide whether coves, promenades, the coastal route, the Saturday market or the sports centre should be the focus of your stay. Playa Flamenca combines coastal landscapes, a coastal route with historical significance, sport and a Saturday market. This allows you to organise your travel plans around your personal interests and choose the themes that should shape your daily rhythm.
