The Barranco de la Maimona is a mountain stream that flows into the Mijares near Montanejos. The section in Montanejos stands out for its reddish rock walls, which are more than 60 metres high. As an interpretation centre, Villa Purificación has been operating since 2019 and is open to the public.
Villa Purificación is a former modernist summer residence. According to oral sources, its building plan and most of the architectural ensemble date from 1929.
