In Parque de La Canaleta, the 1 km Ruta botánica de La Canaleta leads through the central area of the park. The route is accessible via the three main entrances and is accompanied by explanatory panels with QR codes. Along the way, visitors learn about the characteristics of 21 tree species and 23 shrub species in the park. In addition, Parque de La Canaleta has a picnic area with paella grills.

Near the protected surroundings of Pou del Quint and the municipal gardens, a 10,000 m² public green and recreational area was created. It features fully accessible paths, picnic tables and an agility park for pets. In addition to the botanical route, Mislata therefore offers a clear focus for walks, breaks and spending time surrounded by greenery.

Family Activities and Sports in La Canaleta

Parc Infantil de Trànsit La Canaleta is an educational and recreational area for schools, families and leisure activities. Its cycling and go-kart circuit is equipped with traffic lights and road signs. The La Canaleta sports complex also includes tennis courts, frontón, pádel, futsal, skateboarding and athletics facilities, as well as football pitches with artificial turf. The complex also has an outdoor summer swimming pool.

Art in the Historic Centre

The Casa Taller of Fundació Miquel Navarro is a museum and a versatile building complex in the Morería district of Mislata’s historic centre. It is located in the historic studio where Miquel Navarro worked for more than 40 years and houses more than 400 works donated by the artist. A permanent exhibition displays sculptures, photographs, paintings, specialist publications and medium-sized works. The house is also designed for temporary exhibitions and various events that combine education, culture and art.

The Biennal de Mislata Miquel Navarro is an initiative for contemporary art. It follows on from the “Vila de Mislata” biennials for sculpture and painting held from 1985 to 2008, took place for the first time in 2016 and supports visual arts projects by emerging artists from different regions. Mislata Art al Carrer, or MAC for short, brings art to the streets of Mislata through a recurring performing arts festival. The festival was founded more than ten years ago.

Historic Buildings and Festivals

Iglesia de la Virgen de los Ángeles is Mislata’s oldest church and dates from the 18th century. La Cruz del término dates from the 15th century and marks the boundary between Valencia and Mislata. A more recent architectural accent is provided by Convent de la Mare de Deu al Peu de la Creu: it dates from the mid-20th century, has a contemporary design and features a single-nave layout.

Fiestas Patronales y Populares de Mislata are organised by the city’s two Clavarías in honour of the Virgen de los Ángeles and the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe. The festivities include Moros y Cristianos, large paellas, fireworks and processions. Those choosing a hotel in Mislata can therefore weigh up different interests: art, history, green spaces, family activities, sports, festivals or regional cuisine each offer their own focus.

Practical Information and Valencian Cuisine

The public entrance to Museo de Historia de Valencia is located at C/ Valencia 42 in Mislata. The museum can be reached by EMT city buses, Metrovalencia and tourist buses. Culinary traditions of the municipalities of l’Horta that are represented in Mislata include paella, arrós amb fesols i naps, arròs a banda and arròs negre. Mislata’s culinary tradition, in the surroundings of the region known for Xufa, also includes classic Valencian Orxata and Fartons.
