Discover Paiporta through tangible traces
Paiporta can be explored through tangible traces of its industrial history, ecclesiastical art, regional cuisine and festival traditions. The El Pilar brickworks is also known in Paiporta as El Rajolar de Bauset and began operating in mid-1924. When Paiporta Town Council acquired the Rajolar site in December 1994, only the main hall and chimney remained of the original complex.

Sant Jordi Church and the Auditori
If you are interested in ecclesiastical art and local history, Sant Jordi Church is an essential stop. It was inaugurated on 10 August 1754 and is regarded as a significant local heritage site. The church is dedicated to Sant Jordi; San Roque, the patron saint of the municipality, occupies a prominent place inside the church. One of the church's chapels was painted by Salvador Montesa Manzano, a member of the ParpallĂł group.
Another cultural highlight is the Auditori de Paiporta. The main hall has 472 seats, while the conference room offers 125 seats. These two scales give the building a clearly differentiated spatial profile and complement the themes surrounding Sant Jordi, which are more strongly shaped by art and architectural history.
Garden and silk weaving at the Chalet de Catalá
The Chalet de Catalá has a public garden and was originally built onto Rafael Catalá's silk-weaving workshop. Here, a tangible garden setting connects with a reference to the local history of silk processing. Together with the Rajolar, this offers insight into Paiporta's different architectural and economic contexts, without reducing the town to a single historical narrative.
Traditional breads and Guisao de San Roc
Regional cuisine in Paiporta also remains tangible through specific names and ingredients. The traditional range of breads included the Pataca, also known as Pataqueta, and the Rollo. Guisao de San Roc is prepared with chicken, rabbit and meatballs. Its sauce contains onions, tomatoes, garlic, parsley, chopped almonds and Cognac, and is seasoned with red pepper. Festes de Sant Roc 2025
The Festes de Sant Roc 2025 combined live music, popular culture, children's activities, sports, and religious and festive traditions. The programme included the DansĂ de Sant Roc, a Correfoc, the Festa del Melonet, the Cavalcada de Sant Roc and the CremĂ del Gos.
