Albuixech's historical origins include a Muslim alquerĂa called Abu Xech, whose name is interpreted as “AlquerĂa of the Forest.” After its conquest by Jaime I, Albuixech was handed over to the Bishop of València, passed through various lordships, and was fully incorporated into the Crown in the 16th century. This development gives the town's history several clearly recognizable stages.
