The Castillo de Benissanó was built in the second half of the 15th century on the site of an earlier Arab alquería called Benixanut. The Murallas de Benissanó were built between the 13th and 14th centuries and are older than the Castillo de Benissanó. As a result, the preserved structures stand out as tangible traces of the former fortifications.
The former underground areas of the Castillo de Benissanó are now fitted out as cellar rooms. The present-day parish church, Iglesia Parroquial de los Santos Reyes, was rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style.
